Welcome to Ms. Hart's Sixth Grade |
The sixth grade class will be doing many interesting things this school year.
Greek Myths, poetry, and classic pieces of literature will be part of our Communication Arts classroom this year. We will have the opportunity to explore a wide range of genres, as well as writing many original pieces of work. Social Studies will examine ancient cultures including Mesopotamia, Eqypt, Greece, Rome, India and China. We will study how all these cultures have similar building blocks. In Science, we have many investigations to look forward to such as: Characteristics and Interactions of Living Organisms, Earth's Systems, Properties and Principles of Matter and Energy. These are examined using unique hands-on methods. An emphasis will be placed on content area, reading skills, and the scientific process. Students will be assessed in a variety of ways including projects, performance events, and chapter tests. All in all, the Wheatland sixth grade class will be expanding thier knowledge, evaluating learning techniques, and improving their study skills as they move toward Middle School. |
